Force collaring?

FW's place on the Council

Rollo the Ax~~~ Well, folks.... should we get tonights forum started ??? I think that any serves that are not finished could be done in one single posting so nobody has to go thirsty ...LOL.. so any kajira serving, do a VERY harta serve to finish up and we will begin.....

Rollo the Ax~~~ While things get settled, how about anybody with suggestions for topics PM Me with them and I'll set up a list of order ????

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~comes to nestle close, her body wrapping near to Him, thighs straddling, small delicate fingers playing on His chest, she leans up to whisper in His ear~ thank You Master ~rests her head on His shoulder, eyes lifting as she listens to Master Rollo start the forum~

Lemuel~~~ ~sipping My paga as I listen for the first topic~

Rollo the Ax~~~ Okay...... I see that there was one carry over topic from last week... the question of if FW should be on the Council of GS ???? so lets try and clear that one first.... To Me, it is a * NON-question, for it has already been done, is a past practice, and I see no problem with it... Ladies Moonglow and Kayla were ALWAYS welcome members... and I for one found sound reasoning and good advice from BOTH of them on most every matter....

Stavros~~~ ~tapping the handles of my daggers on the table creating a drum roll.. waiting for the first topic~

Kyoto~~~ On the council as far as an advisory postion, but they should not have any actual vote.

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding to the Senior Captain~ I agree completely Rollo. I have said in the past that Kayla has more than earned the title.

jasma{GS~FG}~~~ ~listening to words from Master Rollo.. the girl scribes deligently as she feels Master Lemuel's hand tossle hair.. grinning~

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding to Kyoto~
Aye, and that is what it says in the protocols. A FW may become an Advisor, but not a Captain. Only the Captains have voting power.

Stavros~~~ whoops a little late.. I don't have a problem with FW on Council.. as long as they cause me no problems.. ~chuckling~ just kidding.. ~as I begin to fidgit with my trust lockpicks~

Mandi~~~ ~~hearing it declared as a non-question by the Senior Captain, comments no further~~

Kyoto~~~ (Expanding on my earlier post) I believe that their council can be valuable, but as this is a paga tavern and not a walled garden, they should not have as much say as a full voting member of the council.

fallen~angel~~~ Women have ruled on Gor as Administrator, Ubara and Tatrix. Tharna was led by a woman Administrator until she chose to step down, why should a FW NOT be an Advisor in GS? Hell the books allow Her to rule....It may be a Man's world but in the books the FW did rule at some stanges.....

Gornt~~~ ~nodding~
I would have to agree with the Senior Captain as well It would just be too far a departure from Port Kar
now if it were Thentis Guys We'd all be in trouble

Gornt~~~ I meant Tharna

fallen~angel~~~ Talena was also made the sole Ubara of Ar when Marlenus was thought dead and the Regent had been deposed.

Lemuel~~~ ~S~ As I understand it, Advisors only *power* is that they may offer their opinions to the Captains. It is the Captains that decide. Kayla and I only fill in when it is required.

Rollo the Ax~~~ Advisors do NOT have a full vote, only the full Captains do... But Advisors are such because the council of Captains value their insight and input... they may well offer a different point of view that a Captain did not see... and FW can not progress beyond Advisor, but male Advisors may well become full captains, so I hope this answers any questions on this topic......

Kovak Broadbelt~~~ I agree we would all be head deep in dung if FW had a vote

Kyoto~~~ fa, I'm not saying that an FW should not be an advisor, for women have very valuable and lively minds. And there was precedence for them to rule... but take Moonglow for example, she found her slave belly and stepped down... and many women on Gor find themselves to be in a man's thrall even if they are not slaves. So, can we then trust that they are speaking their own minds or are they being influenced by a man?

Mandi~~~ One comment is that it is very dangerous for the Captains to leave the FW vulnerable to attack for appearing to be in authority here in the Tavern, especially over the FM.

Asellus~~~ *Tilting Her head at Kyoto's comment and then looking back to Rollo, knowing His final opinion on the matter...*

Gornt~~~ ~listening to Mandi~

Gornt~~~ the problem there Mandi is not in having the authority but in being able to enforce that authority

Mandi~~~ ~~chuckles~~ Noone Anywhere can be trusted to be completely Free of influences of Anyone. And Those Who are not Influenced by Any might not be trustworthy either.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Hearing the topic~
Ok, I don't think there is too much of a problem with an FW being admitted to the Council, I certainly have little objection to it, but from what I hear and feel around the place is that some of the dissenters are saying where is the line drawn on a FW advisor power? From there it is bascically a definition of what an Advisor is.

fallen~angel~~~ ~*smiles at Master Kyoto*~ fa only said as Advisor Master, not as Captain. she was just stating how things were in the books.

Lemuel~~~ ~looking to Mandi~
But Advisors have no authority. We are here to run forums on occasion, point new Patrons to the protocols on the Home page and offer Our advice, that is all.

Mandi~~~ Authority with no enforcement ability is not aurhority unless Others agree to be responsible and honorable.

Gornt~~~ sort of like eunuchs eh Lem?

Stavros~~~ Hey.. as long as I don't have a FW telling me what to do I have no problem.. ~smiles to the FW.. fidgting with my lockpicks again~

Rollo the Ax~~~ LOL...LOL.. Well, Kovak, opinions are like a certain part of the human anatomy... everybody has ONE.... and everybody is welcome to their own opinion... while this IS Gor, and a man's world, I have found that some FW have more honor and common sense than many of the * warriors * I ahve run across

fallen~angel~~~ in the end the Captains run the Tavern, regardless of what Anyone thinks, it's Their decision on who becomes Captain....

Gornt~~~ but if the FW has the responsibility of enforcing Coucil rulings Stavros?

fallen~angel~~~ *laffin at Master Rollo* fa uses that saying often

Lemuel~~~ ~chuckling~ No Gornt, I wouldn't say that.

Mandi~~~ Every time an Advisor steps in to perform a duty otherwise done by Captains, it creates an illusion of apparent authority to act on behalf of the Captains, Lemuel. And places a FW Advisor into hot water for the appearance of impropriety.

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ *Agreeing with Rollo's words, and chuckling*

Mandi~~~ ~~adjusting veils over nose more firmly~~

Gornt~~~ ~smiling~ I didn't mean anything personal Lemuel, but you see My point
IF the Advisors are the only One's present in the Tavern then because of their relation to the Council, they have that authority

fallen~angel~~~ Goren Men who don't have a mind of their own and who can be influenced easily by the opinion of a women perhaps should not be in a position of power.

Lemuel~~~ ~shrugs~ Then I would say it is a problem with the person perceiving it that way, Mandi. I ran a forum before I became an Advisor, but it didn't give Me any authority.

Stavros~~~ ~Looking to Gornt~ if I'm not honorable and or respectful to the patrons of GS then yes I may take the FW word under advisement.. but then if I'm not Honorable and respectful then why would I be here?

Bolt Sarakai~~~ I don't believe an Advisor has the authority to enforce any rules in the Tavern, they are here for guidance of the patrons and to offer help and knowledge. They do have a limited authority over tavern slaves but that I believe, is where the line is drawn.

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding to the Captain~
Aye Bolt, exactly.

Gornt~~~ Is it fair to put Kayla or Lemuel, for that matter, in a postion where She represents the full power and majesty of the Council?
They could be killed just for carrying out Their postions as representatives of the Council

Kovak Broadbelt~~~ I don't Disgree with FW in Advisor role just the voting I dislike,,I know a few FW I have must show Repect & honor indeed they have fought to earnt

inez{KB}~~~ *listening intently and watching as the words are passed back and forth, smiling just a bit*

Gornt~~~ ~chuckling as fa diverges entirely off in a new direction~

Kyoto~~~ No, it isn't fair to put her there, nor is it fair for either of them to assume that authority in any matter.

Rollo the Ax~~~ Maybe there is some confusion about just what a council member is or can do ??? no ONE Captain or Advisor can do ANYTHING.... except try to enforce Council rules or will.... no single person... Myself included, can change rules or enforce ANY arbitrary decision....

Gornt~~~ ~nodding~ alright I stand corrected, I have been wrong before

Lemuel~~~ We Advisors CANNOT vote, Kovak. Only Captains can do that.

Mandi~~~ Kayla has already been subjected to much verbal abuse within these walls when attempting to follow what She believed to be the Captains' directives.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Also Gornt, an Advisor's view does not represent nor reflect the view of the Council. It is not until one becomes a Captain can he speak for the Council, on most matters.

fallen~angel~~~ ~*winks at Master Gornt*~ fa often does that Master

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ The Advisors do not vote Kovak..They only give opinions...

Gornt~~~ a wonderful tactic

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding to Mandi~ Aye, and that was not *fair* either. We all do the best We can in any given situation. Sometimes We make mistakes, but that is the nature of being human. ~S~

Kyoto~~~ Well, even then Bolt, a Captain must make sure he isn't making a broad, generalized statement that isn't necessarially the views of the rest of the council.

Kovak Broadbelt~~~ Nods~ Cleary understanding now

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding at Kyoto's words~ Aye, as Captain Rollo said, no ONE person makes decisions here it is by the vote of the Captains and the Captains alone.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Indeed Kyoto. The Council will decide the direction of the Tavern and then from there the individual Captains have the authority to speak for the Tavern, especially to outsiders.

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ Kyoto, I think that Every Captian is aware of that and is willing to speak for themselves and not make a generalized statement.

Rollo the Ax~~~ Simply put, while and Advisor does not have any real * power * to enforce rules or such in GS, they DO have the respect of the Captains, and as such, sould be shown perhaps a slightly higher level of respect by the average patron and all slaves.....agreed ?????

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~listens closely, eyes sparkling seeing the Captains present~

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding at Rollo's words~ Aye Captain.

Mandi~~~ The Advisors sought to make the Council more accessible to Us by being able to assist with taking pledges or collaring slaves or other administrative issues. That should be appreciated.
The controversy with the position exceeds the paycheck and prestige by far.

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ Aye Rollo...I agree to that...

Stavros~~~ ~looks to Rollo~ well I guess so.. ~smirks.. then continues to clean my lock picks~

jasma{GS~FG}~~~ ~nodding head in agreement~.. aye Master

Lemuel~~~ ~smiling at Mandi~ I'm sure Kayla would agree with Your words, Lady.

Kyoto~~~ Agreed Rollo

Mandi~~~ ~~smiles at Lemuel~~ Aye, Advisor, the Captains get the BIG bucks.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ That agreed Rollo. But in saying that what happens when a Captains' or Advisors' actions over time cause some disharmony with the patrons, should they still show respect if they have none for the said person, regardless of gender? And then how is this handled?

Kovak Broadbelt~~~ ageed Rollo

Rollo the Ax~~~ And as for Captains ???? each of Us has only ONE vote on any issue, ( except on VERY rare tie breaking votes ), and so can NOT make any changes or such without the vote of the others.... If most here care to look or remember, even I, senior captain, almost always preface My comments with ** in MY opinion **.... trying to show that while I may feel or think that way, it is NOT GS policy until it is voted on.....

topaz~~~ *listens quietly*

Kyoto~~~ Bolt, I guess we should have respect for the position, even if we have none for the actual person. We should then make our concerns apparent to the council and they would hopefully address the situation. Personally, I think if an advisor, or even a Captain, ever put themselves into such an untenable situation that their very presence becomes a distraction and acts to cause problems in the tavern, the very place they are sworn to protect, then they should step down, voluntarily.

Rollo the Ax~~~ Bolt, such things can be * handled * like everything else in GS.... a vote of the Council.... if by action or word, a captain or advisor shows themselves to be unworthy of the position, they can be voted OFF the Council....

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding at Kyoto's words~ My thoughts run along the same lines, Warrior. If a Patron feels discomfitted by an Advisor or Captain they are always free to bring it to the attention of the Council - preferably with a c&p showing why.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Nods to Kyoto~
That is a good answer. No one individual here is bigger or better than the whole, so in such a situation, to My thinking, it would be the most logical way to handle the situation.

Asellus~~~ New topic, please?? *quietly speaking*

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Nods to Rollo~
It is good to let the Patrons know what they are able to do in such a situation and as you say, the Council of Captains is the final word here in the Tavern.

Gornt~~~ yes this one has been flogged to death

Stavros~~~ ~looking up for a quick sec~ next topic please ~grinz~

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding at Asellus and Gornt~ I agree. I think we have covered this topic as much as it can be covered.

Rollo the Ax~~~ Yes, Asellus, I think that this issue has been just about * beat to death * yet again.......if anybody has a question or complaint, send it to the Council addy.....

Kyoto~~~ Just for the record, what are the e-mail addies where the council can be reached...

Lemuel~~~ goreanshores@hotmail.com
That's the primary addy.

Kyoto~~~ Thanks Lem.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ The topic keeps getting beat to death that is a given, but there must be a reason for it, so until whatever is causing it is remedied, it will probably keep coming up. As the Senior Captain has said, we will deal with your questions or complaints, but you have to let us know first ~laughs~ Right, the next topic...

Whining slaves

Lemuel~~~ ~sipping My paga as I sit back to listen for the next topic~

Rollo the Ax~~~ The next topic that was sent to Me is one about what should be done about visiting slaves or old time slaves, coming to GS and complaining about the * Old Guard * not still being here... ( I guess that means Kli Kodesh, Xern, Beliel, etc. ... ).... ?????? any ideas or comments ????

Gornt~~~ tell em the new regime is here

Asellus~~~ *Chuckling at Gornt*

Stavros~~~ I got an Idea.. tell them that we are out with the old and in with the new.. ~Laughing~

Gornt~~~ younger and stronger

Stavros~~~ bigger and better!!!! LMAO!!!!

Lemuel~~~ ~S~ I've posted a few ideas in response to such comments in the past, but they meet with luke-warm response at best. ~shrugs~

Mandi~~~ which came first, the vulo or the egg? I know not, but within the best understanding I have, slaves are supposed to be pleasing to the Free and in v/t they can whine in the kennels if they so choose.

Stavros~~~ Actually I'm so new.. I'd tell them that they're in the wrong place and I don't know what the hell they are talking about.. ~falling off the bench laughing hysterically bouncing my head on the floor.. wincing.. then rubbing the back of my head chuckleing as I sit back down and get my composure~

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Gornt, I once heard this...
The young bull and the old bull were standing on top of a hill overlooking a large herd of heffa's. The young bull turns to the old bull and says, lets rush down the hill and have our way with some of those girls down there. The old bull turned to him and said, why not walk down there and screw the lot?

shirin{SholGar}~~~ such is life and slaves just have to deal with it, it's quite simple in shirin's eyes ~shrugs~

Errand Knight~~~ thank the high Priests for age serum

Asellus~~~ I agree with You, Mandi. That is not the best way to get attention from the Men that DO frequent the tavern, I am sure, by whining about what's "lost."

Mandi~~~ I hear slaves bemoaning no Masters and at other times Men will bemoan no slaves.
a few will get up and spar or dance or serve something good, and then, strange enough, People start to show up for an "event" who would not just show up for "same-old"

Lemuel~~~ ~grins at the Captain's joke~

Gornt~~~ I am here mostly 7 days well nights a week
many a night there is not a slave within a 100 pasangs of the place

Molly~~~ Molly really dislikes whiners...I find them very exhausting.

Kyoto 20:23:31 CST

Kyoto~~~ Hmmm, well, I guess that we should advise them that life is change, nothing can remain the same forever. If a place does not change, then apathy sets in amongst those whom they pine away for. And ultimately, they should be reminded that they are slaves, and that the decision to leave this place was made by Free Men, Men who did not feel the need to consult with a mere piece of property on whether or not they could move on to other things.

fallen~angel~~~ ~*gigles at Master Sarakai's joke*~

Stavros~~~ well Molly there's one in every crowd.. ~chuckles~

Lemuel~~~ ~nods to Mandi~ Aye, but then there are those that flee the room when a slave is serving too.
~looking down to jaz and winking as I run My fingers through her sable locks~

Kovak Broadbelt~~~ Chuckles~

Rollo the Ax~~~ In My opinion, the problem is not really a problem... it is LIFE !!!! Things change... people change also... some leave because of RT life changes, others because they loss the spark of Gorean life, others for many different reasons.... ther ONLY thing that ANY person can do is MOVE ON and GROW.... the other option is to stay still and wither and die... Sure, I wish that Xern was still here... but My Daddy taught Me as a child that when faced with wanting that which I could NOT have, to * wish * in one hand, and shit in the other... and see just which one got filled up first........

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~giggles hearing Master Sarakai~

Mandi~~~ ~~chuckles at Lemuel~~ Perhaps They feel that it would be some time before Their turn comes around. Or perhaps They wish to not flatline Some Else's good times.

jasma{GS~FG}~~~ ~listening to Him speak.. dark pools lift.. a smile tugs at the corners of sweet lips from His words as cheeks redden~

fallen~angel~~~ Life goes on, get over it. People come and go, it's just the way it is.

Lemuel~~~ ~laughs at Rollo's words of wisdom~ Aye Captain.

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ Aye Kyoto...very good point...And I am sure it would help if some of the Masters that were friends of those that are now gone were here often, but that is not the case. Actually not many of the Masters still around were here. I know that I came to PK when Xern was still Captain here, but soon after Rollo took over.

Mandi~~~ girls, please be advised that I shall ask girls to dance a dance celebrating the memories of these revered Ones rather than to mourn Their absence in a displeasing manner.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Laughs~ Exactly. Life goes on, the tide flows and ebbs, take it as it comes and enjoy it for how it is now, not yesterday.

Lemuel~~~ ~grins at Mandi~ I am always willing to play the good host and allow a slave serving Me to get drinks for other Patrons as they enter. Unfortunately, I rarely get that chance. ~G~

Kyoto~~~ *Nodding to CD*
I came shortly after Belial left... if I remember correctly, there was still talk about whether or not he would be returning.

inez{KB}~~~ *wrinkle's nose at the image Master Rollo's words bring and stifling a giggle because she knows them to be true*

Asellus~~~ hehehehe...*giggling at Mandi*

Lemuel~~~ ~grins~ An excellent idea, Mandi!

Stavros~~~ to each their own.. when I get old and crotchety and can't stand GS anymore I'll be gone too.. In the mean time I'm gonna live it up!! ~looking at the purses among the room.. making sure the patrons are kept on their toes.. Laughing~

Kyoto~~~ Ok, so we are agreed that I will tell the whiny slaves that what they are wishing for is the past, and that this is now and that they should just shut their traps, get me a paga and keep my lap warm in the here and now?

Lemuel~~~ ~grins at Stavros~ Beware a Builder's purse. We make all sorts of interesting little devices that might surprise groping fingers. ~chuckles~

Rollo the Ax~~~ I think that the only answer to this topic is to tell any such slave... or Free person for that matter... * Well, sorry about that, but that person doesn't come around any more... if you wish to stay and take part in the way things go NOW, you are welcome.... if not, don't let the door hit you on the ass as you leave...** That was THEN... this is NOW !!!!

serena{B}~~~ giggling .....trying to picture a crotchety theif~~~~

Lemuel~~~ ~laughs~ Another fine idea, Kyoto!

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ *chuckling at Lemuel's comment.*

Kyoto~~~ Hey Rollo, somethings wrong here... you and I are saying pretty much the same thing.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Chuckles~ I agree Rollo. And in My opinion, enough said.

Stavros~~~ ~looks at Lemuel chuckling..~ you are talking to a Master Thief.. and now that you mentioned it I feel challenged to try and pick it.. never lost a finger.. now on the other hand.. you see that chest ~pointing to the corner of the room..~ that has a blade trap on the lock.. you open it wrong and blades go everywhere.. that one hurts!!!

Rollo the Ax~~~ I think that we all agree about that topic, so lets move on again.....

Force collaring?

Rollo the Ax~~~ The question was raised ... ** How many times should an un-collared slave be allowed to visit GS before they are * fair game * to be force collared ????

Gornt~~~ thanks Molly the topic I have been waiting for

Mandi~~~ ~~listening earnestly for guidance as this is one I am asked on occasion and cannot offer any assurances or protection in this role~~

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ Well..I definately feel as if a certain time frame should be set.

Lemuel~~~ ~S~ I think that if they *know* they are entering as a slave and they enter uncollared, they should be fair game.

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~nods, liking this topic~
shirin thinks it should be, uumm, once, only takes one visit to gather the links to the homepage and read up and find out if one has the guts to dare enter again ~giggles~

topaz~~~ *sits up straighter, amber eyes bright and expressive, hearing the next topic.....full lips slightly parted....listens*

Gornt~~~ it should be posted clearly on Homepage so there is no question

Asellus~~~ Well, I certainly don't think You want an actual number on that one. I'm sure that the slave will have at least spoken in whispers with Another will probably decide when he or she is ready....that's usually the sense I get when new slaves enter Gor. An unspoken agreement made via whispers or something.

fallen~angel~~~ ~*touches her neck and bites her lower lip as she listens to the question*~

shiri{Rogan}~~~ ~listening..sparkling eyes sweep over topaz and her bare neck as she straightens..giggling~

Kyoto~~~ I don't know, first of all, since there is no permanent record of when people come and go, how can anyone make that judgement. And second of all, a force collar is only as binding as the desire of the one being collared to keep it.

Mandi~~~ Lemuel, in v/t, the solution to that is EASY. Don't log in here at all. That makes recruitment well nigh impossible, as Many take collars more seriously than to take one on visit One or Two.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Interesting topic. An un kollared slave in the tavern is fair game I believe, from the moment she begs entrance into the Tavern. Not only that if an unkollared slave is in any way totally displeasing then she can be killed, and this is on her her first entrance into the Tavern.
In saying this, a girl who has a limited grasp of Gor and the whole roleplay sense, then I will use My judgment and direct her to where I feel she is best required to do so, whether the first girl or the homepage.

Ceredigawn Durst~~~ Good point Kyoto...if you force collar a girl, and you never see her again...Or maybe she just returns with a different name, What's the point? However I feel that a girl that is constantly coming in on a regular basis needs something to decorate her neck. *S*

Lemuel~~~ ~nods~ Aye Mandi, but I'm thinking the term *force* is misleading here. How can anyone *force& anything in v/t? The kajira has to be *willing* r/t or it doesn't work.

shirin{SholGar}~~~ Mistress Mandi, shirin does agree, but on the other hand she doesn't with Your last comment, this one was put in a personal collar on her third visit here and respected it fully for all it's meanings...it's all a matter of who the slave is and is she serious about making it work

topaz~~~ *hears Mistress Mandi's words, eyes tear as a girl's thoughts are mirrored...a ko~lar indeed being a very serious and emotional bond to this one*

serena{B}~~~ ~lightly tossing a long errant golden curl over her shoulders..*shuddering as a chill works up curvaceous spine...
*softly speaking.....usually an interested girl has already done some research on her own before she has entered...
she feels may be a predetermined amount of visits should be posted to the rules...
5 or less....by then a girl usually has a pretty good idea what to expect

Stavros~~~ ~laughing at the forcing upon someone VT!!!!~ yeah.. I'm sure that will happen.. to an unwilling person.. LOL!!!

fallen~angel~~~ fa agrees with paz, when she has a collar she wants to make sure she is taking it for the right reasons and that her and the Master suit each other.....she does not want to 'jump in'.

Mandi~~~ And some very interesting girls are scared off by not having an assurance of a time certain in which to observe the Tavern. I have seen Captains offer protection for differing numbers of days, but nothing clearcut here. It would help if We are going to grow or at least do any PR work with the people "next door."

Gornt~~~ then make it part of the homepage
if she runs she didn't want to be here too badly in the first place

Molly~~~ So can a slave whos killed keep changing her name and return to GS without problems

Gornt~~~ publish a cut and dried rule

Gornt~~~ no bullshit
this is how it is period.

Errand Knight~~~ remains the case that many lilones are scared of cuming here

Okay... now once again, in * MY * opinion... to try and set a number... like 3, or 5,7, ???? is counter-productive... a NEW, uncollared slave is here to try and LEARN what it is to be slave on Gor... that can be a VERY hard and scary thing for new girls.... for an old slave that has been owned before, she SHOULD know enough ... so she will be more on her toes and know what she can and can't get away with....

Kyoto~~~ I agree CD, and at that point, the girl needs to know that she then and there she has three options, first, to take the collar of the one giving the warning, second, to beg then and there for a tavern collar, or third, to leave and not return until she has a collar. I would then suggest that a post be made on the GS board stating that the girl was given her options and then, perhaps post her ip addie (or if she has a membership) so that she may not continue to flaunt the rules.

Molly~~~ I feel that a forced kolar is wrong..

calia{GS}~~~ warm smile to her heart,as calia agrees completely with shirin ~* for some slaves, whatever the fate - would be completely honored ......

Stavros~~~ ~looking in my goodie bag..~ ummm nope... no Kolars in here... ~smiles~

Mandi~~~ ~~looking to Errand Knight and appreciating His candour~~
Aye, that is so, Friend.

Lemuel~~~ ~nods~ Aye Mandi, but they can always come in during a forum w/o worry.

fallen~angel~~~ fa has been coming and going in GS for quite sometime now.....she is told by certain Masters *looking at Master Sarakai and grinning* that her time is up for the day and to leave or her neck will be adorned with steal

Mandi~~~ Lemuel, the Forum is not a typical slice of life in the Tavern.

shiri{Rogan}~~~ collars are a part of Gor..if one doesn't want a collar one should not come to Gor ~smiles~

Kyoto~~~ *Grinning at Stavros*
I always carry an extra collar or two. In case of emergencies.

topaz~~~ *whispers softly*
Aye Master EK, that is so, as this girl also was afraid to enter GS without a collar/ko~lar, and so has restricted her visits to the forums thus far *smiling at Him*

Lemuel~~~ ~nods~ True enough, but they can get pointers as to what their behavior should be like w/o worrying about getting collared.

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~smiles to calia~ we are slaves after all, right? when were we given say in this matter?

Mandi~~~ *LOL* I beg your pardon, shiri, ~~feeling bare neck through veils~~ I suppose We need to discuss the ropes with them in DM or another room rather than in here or suggest They log in as Free to visit, but that can be fraught with problems, too.
And We have long ago rejected temporary or observation collars, the "t" merely denoting training.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Winks to fa~ It is a judgment call in My opinion. New slaves should be directed to the homepage, if they like what they read and want to experience more, then they should come back and beg a tavern kolar. This then places them under the protection of the Council and all the associated rules we have for white silk slaves.

topaz~~~ aye shiri....true...and this slave would be honored to have One's ko~lar, but would aslo like to know that One a bit before giving her whole life and being unto Him/Her....what if there be no compatibility?...then tis a miserable time indeed each time a girl logs on....she will serve and do all that is asked because she is slave, and her slave heart and belly tell her it is so...but without the fire?

shiri{Rogan}~~~ ~giggling~
Mistress Mandi shiri did not mean Free Women she meant slaves

Rollo the Ax~~~ I am so VERY glad to see that most people understand the concept that it is NOT a good idea to try and FORCE some new girl into a collar BEFORE she knows AND understands just what she is letting herself in for..... Too many Masters... ( Mostly the newer, * hot to trot * ones ) seem to think that to slap a collar on ANYTHING is a big deal... without understanding about how it more than likely will only scare the girl away.....

Molly~~~ But what's the since of a collar if there are no true restrictions and why collar in {GS} when you're still everyone's property I may be wrong but I'm just going on what I see also, why are there more GS slaves in The DM and not here?

Stavros~~~ ~looks at Kyoto..~ I do not want to Kolar anyone.. I do not have the time to give to a sweet kajira.. I would feel it wouldn't be fair to the little one not being able to commit enough time to make her feel wanted and special.. so I have fun when I can instead..

Gornt~~~ then why have Tavern kolars at all

Lemuel~~~ ~nods at Bolt's words~ There is also the option of seeking out a particular Master's collar to wear.

shiri{Rogan}~~~ ~peeks to topaz~
there are other options then just personal collars sis

fallen~angel~~~ yes but a slave should get to know a Master before she begs for begging a Master to wear His collar could get her killed.....

calia{GS}~~~ *~soft smile to topaz~* no reason to be frightened
here, the slaves savor and cherish their collars just like in bdsm -.....there you are given a choice as to Whom you submit ,Who you choose to be owned by and serve.....here, we as slaves ,it is our livlihood to do so , calia's life depends on being pleasing or she can be sold, killed, given away, traded for a vulo *L*&...doesn't matter so much for Who, just as long as we do it...~*
but the circle, that claimed you throat,is very much the same as calia's....

Mandi~~~ and I have come to appreciate the differences between the subs and the slaves and respect the curiousity being exhibited prior to being collared rather than seeing disillusion set in later if a girl is misroled as a Gorean slave.

fallen~angel~~~ *growls at her sentence that doesn't make sense* should have read...
yes but a slave should get to know a Master before begging a Master to wear His collar could get her killed.....

Gornt~~~ all I want is a rule
a simple rule that says there are 5 visits, 2 visits or 200 just so there is something in concrete
how hard is that?

Bolt Sarakai~~~ ~Nods hearing the words of Stavros, Lemuel and Rollo~
Owning a slave online is almost paramount to a full time job in itself. Thus when kolaring you must take into consideration this line of thinking. It is the only reason why I have no slaves, as I have not the time to put aside for them, otherwise, fa, I would own you ~laughs~

Lemuel~~~ ~grins~ Aye Mandi, it is best that a girl *look before she leaps* into a collar.

shirin{SholGar}~~~ ~nods hearing fa, biting her lip~

fallen~angel~~~ fa knows that Master Sarakai, for if You were able to give the time a girl needs she would have no hesitation in begging for Your collar *smiles softly*

Kyoto~~~ *Grinning as I hear Bolt talk to fa*
Aye bro, she is so damned tempting, isn't she?

topaz~~~ aye shiri, tis true, though as a slave to All is a difficult thing for a girl, having to fur Any who demand it?
this one reads and learns more and more each day of Gor, and feels the need within to be all she can be as a kajira, to please, to serve, to dance, to clean, to care for...whatever is demanded of her she does willingly, and happily....as that is who she is...slave....but feels the need to be total slave to One...it that makes any sense?...not that she has any rights as a slave, but for one to burn brightly......luckily, that will not be an issue for long.....

Lemuel~~~ ~S~ I doubt many Men would be upset that a desireable little kajira begged their collar, fa'.

Lemuel~~~ ~nodding at Bolt~ Aye, lack of time is one of the reasons I don't have any slaves, a jealous Free Companion is the other. ~G~

jasma{GS~FG}~~~ ~looking up at Him as He speaks... then lowering eyes~

Molly~~~ Watches her questions go un answered as usual.....

fallen~angel~~~ "Many" being the operative word Master Lemuel, there are some who would....*grins* fa wouldn't risk the chance of begging a collar from a Master if she wasn't 100% positive that He wanted her as His.

Kyoto~~~ What question was unanswered, Molly?
*Trying to find it*

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Basically Gornt, the rule as it stands is an unkolared slave in the Tavern is fair game. In My opinion it is up to each individual Free to judge what is best for the girl and then decide what is the best course of action to pursue. Some slaves are just ripe for the kolar, others need to read more. The beauty about poolside is that you can whisper to anyone here and that is a great way for the girls to learn more knowledge.

Lemuel~~~ ~looking to Molly~ I thought calia's words answered Your question quite well, even if they weren't directed at You.

Mandi~~~ ~~smiles toward Molly~~ The best questions get discussed, not answered, girl.
We may not get it fully considered in but one Forum meeting, but at least it is on the table and is a VERY significant issue worth the effort to address properly.

Molly~~~ It's okay Bolt, thank you for asking ~S~

fallen~angel~~~ didn't calia's comment answer it? *confussed*

Stavros~~~ ummm.. did Rollo check out?????

Molly~~~ I wish not to be addressed as girl Mandi and I'm sorry but I feel if it's a forum ALL questions hould be answered!

calia{GS}~~~ *~gentle smile toward Master Lemuel, as calias eyes drop upon mistress jasma ~*

shirin{SholGar}~~~ Mistress Molly...why a {GS} ko~lar? to belong to Someone, even if it be Many, to have to answer to a Master and Owner....why are they in other rooms? they are seeking fellowship with others when none are in GS, they are still free humans in rt and can go anywhere on the www they choose

Kyoto~~~ Molly, I would love to know why there are always more GS slaves in DM then here.

fallen~angel~~~ He's probably typing something, Master Rollo's fingers aren't as fast as some peoples' here *giggling*

Mandi~~~ I stand corrected, Molly, as to proper address.

Stavros~~~ ~looking to fa~ I don't see him in here.. or the dropdown list.. LOL!!!

fallen~angel~~~ *giggles* that's what fa means Master Stavros, sometimes Master Rollo has a lot to say and it takes a while for Him to type it up.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Ok, it looks as if Rollo has been thrown into the canals so I better wind this forum up as we are past our time. As I see it, the current rules stand, but perhaps we shall carry this topic over next week.

Molly~~~ Well thank you but I'm going to leave...Be well all.rises from the furs of SABREWOLF and walks across tavern floor out the door more frustrated and confused.

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Anyone want to say anything else? If not, thanks to all of you turning up for our forum...The topics should keep people talking for another week eh? ~laughs~

calia{GS}~~~ *~softly smiling toward Mistress Molly~*
calia will spend nearly an hour in here dancing about nude, hoping to be caught by a thirsty Master *demure smile* and then she wander off to talk with others,in other rooms if time allows...unfortunately often during days ~* Gorean Shores is like a ghost town ~*shrugging sunkissed shoulders~*

Mandi~~~ I was hoping to know what to tell new girls at GS.

Stavros~~~ this week was a little dry.. ~winks at Bolt~

Molly~~~ Smiles sweetly at calia......You're wonderful

Kyoto~~~ Nope, nothing more to say, Bolt... except... I need a drink!

Lemuel~~~ ~S~ They can always ask for a training collar, Mandi. I think that they have 30 days or something to decide if they wish to keep it...

Bolt Sarakai~~~ Tell them the current rule Mandi. They enter the Tavern unkolared then they are fair game, use your judgement as to what to do for them. I would direct them to the homepage. To Me, it is that simple.

Kyoto~~~ *Listening to calia, and then grinning*
So, tell me sweet slutling, when might you be dancing nude in the tavern?

calia~~~ *~respectfully ,calia glances toward Mistress Mandi~*
to whisper to You,from another room
for as protocal stands, the girls are not safe to watch...
calia helps some in whispers and they choose to come in ,or not...~* her mere opinion*~

Mandi~~~ Aye, Captain.

Mandi~~~ It is not a very practical stance as far as recruitment and/or retention, but it is the best We have at the moment. **sigh**

jasma{GS~FG}~~~ ~finishing up the scribe work.. as the forum comes to a close~
